Gris
Gris has been painting and drawing since early childhood. Like pretty much every young human child, he leaves his first traces on paper and the like. But as other children develop further, learn to walk, go to school, do apprenticeships, fly aeroplanes - he simply continues to paint and draw. Two currents flow into his activities: classical watercolour painting, for which a neighbouring art teacher fascinates him, and graffiti, which enters his life in the late 1980s.
After studying art at the University of Potsdam, he now works mainly as a freelance artist on paper, canvas and, time and again, on large-scale formats such as a 180 m² house wall at Motzstr. 49 in Berlin Schöneberg. His skilful drawing stroke leads through the wide field of motifs and techniques, keeping a quasi diary of his life.

Gris malt und zeichnet seit der frühen Kindheit. Wie so ziemlich jedes junge Menschenkind hinterlässt er seine ersten Spuren auf Papier u.ä. Doch als sich andere Kinder weiter entwickeln, laufen lernen, zur Schule gehen, Ausbildungen machen, Flugzeuge fliegen – malt und zeichnet er einfach weiter. Zwei Strömungen fließen in sein Tun: die klassische Aquarellmalerei, für die ihn ein benachbarter Kunstlehrer fasziniert und Graffiti, das Ender 80er Jahre in sein Leben tritt.
Nach einem künstlerischem Studium an der Universität Potsdam arbeitet er nun hauptsächlich freischaffend an seinen Werken auf Papier, Leinwand und auch immer wieder auf großflächigen Formaten wie z.B. einer 180 m² Hauswand der Motzstr. 49 in Berlin Schöneberg. Sein gekonnter Zeichenstrich führt durch das weite Feld an Motiven und Techniken, führt quasi Tagebuch für seinen Lebenslauf.

"That's one of the appeals of the watercolour technique for me - you don't always have full control of what's going to happen. But in combination with the precise lines and hatching of ink illustration, I find it particularly charming and a good contrast."

“The AQUA stretched canvas is certainly out of the ordinary art material that I've ever seen. During the process of creation, the feeling with my brush is very amazing as if I was painting on a drum skin. Its composition gives the support : brightness, natural whiteness, extraordinary touch, smooth surface (or structured it depends) and ensures a good resistance. This new invention prevents the pigments from migrating in the thickness of the support while allowing the lavis with a strong resistance to scrubbing and scraping. Once the artwork is done, you can finely stretch the support with the wedges that adjust perfectly the wooden frame. I love playing with my watercolour on my AQUA canvas, it is very comfy! Sorry about my english, I’m french ! Merci beaucoup, la matière est étonnante ! C'est mon coup de cœur du moment ! »
